-
Providing excellent service and accommodations
SWOT Analysis
Strengths
-
Organized move-in and move-out process
-
Accommodates to special requests
-
Enough rooms for all freshmen (not overbooked)
-
Students can live and learn in residential learning communities
-
Flexible with having guests over in dorms
Weaknesses
-
Not all dorms are the same
-
Some have AC, some don’t
-
Some have multiple washers & dryers, some don’t
-
Some are cleaner
-
-
Some RA’s do not accommodate residents’ needs well enough
Opportunities
-
There is talk about redesigning the village area within a few years. Residence life has the opportunity to make these dorms just as nice as Bluestone/skyline. Over half of the JMU freshmen live in the village.
-
Residence life has the opportunity to hire RA’s who accommodate to freshmen needs better
Threats
-
Even if an area like the village is going to be redone, how is residence life going to make up for the unfair advantages of some dorms in the meantime?
